One in three buyers inspecting Qld homes are from interstate
One in three buyers looking at Qld property are from interstate – mostly New South Wales and Melbourne – blowing out even further to 43 per cent on the coast, latest data has found.
New analysis of over 300,000 inspections by virtual tours platform Little Hinges found interstate property hunters made up over a quarter of all inspections in Australia, with Qld seeing an average of 33 per cent of its interest coming from interstate.
New South Wales and Melbourne buyers have been the most engaged in property inspections figures for Queensland, especially on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, according to Little Hinges co-founder and CEO, Josh Callaghan.
“The percentage of interstate inspections has remained consistent since January, showing that the trend of buyers shopping outside their home state is here to stay,” he said.
“We are continuing to see the number of people who are looking to move to Queensland remains high, with one in three virtual inspections across the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane being conducted from interstate.”
“Sellers who tap into the pool of southern buyers will be able to command higher prices, even as the buyer market continues to soften.”
Sydney and Melbourne were among the least popular for interstate inspections, sitting at 13.9 per cent and 15.4 per cent respectively.
